The Pacific Mambo Orchestra plays the music of Latin giants such as Machito, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz and many others and includes those rich traditions in their own contemporary and original arrangements. Trumpeter Steffen Kuehn and Pianist Christian Tumalan, both experienced bandleaders in their own right, formed this Latin Salsa Big Band to bring back and build upon the great Latin Big Band sounds of the 1940’s through the 60’s. The group has a lot of brass—the Orchestra’s instrumentation consists of 4 trumpets, 4 trombones and 5 saxophones, in addition to piano, bass, timbales, congas, bongos and lead singer, Alexis Guillen.
PMO’s members have performed and/or recorded with the industry’s biggest names, including Carlos Santana, Ray DeLa Paz, the Jose Lugo Guasabara Orchestra, Los Adolescentes, Isaac Delgado, Gilberto Santarosa, Tito Rojas, La India, Victor Manuelle and many others.
