The Poblano Project describes their sound as "Cilantro, sweet tomato, lime, and a sparkle of fresh spice." Elegance that moves the hips, Poblano brings the sound of crisp heat to wherever they perform. Founded by veterans of the South Bay club and festival scene, The Poblano Project combines funk and fusion with the sounds of the Caribbean and Brazil. Its original compositions range from danceable cha-cha’s to cutting edge electronica, all with a picante groove.

Founder Elias Kesh began to perform music as a youth in the 70's, followed by years studying music theory and jazz arranging in college. His principal genres have been jazz/fusion and R&B. Bob Hawn's experience ranges from studies in classical keyboard to Grateful Dead cover bands. Early studies in Baroque organ, coupled with immersion in the Keith Emerson and Rick Wakeman schools of Rock, created an appreciation of technique with sound design. Over the years Peter Wallach has played in a wide variety of styles, including Jazz, Big Band, Rock, Funk, Punk, and Musical Theater. Eddie Jimenez brings a dynamic display of percussion con sabor and groove. With over 30 years of experience, he has held forth on stages all over the Western United States and Hawaii.
