Fatum Brothers’ Peacetet

Twin brothers John Fatum (drums/percussion, composer/arranger, artistic director) and Michael Fatum (trumpet, composer/arranger, performance conductor), formed the Peacetet with a goal of no less than “bringing people together in a musical setting” and “creating a global community.” Instead of just tackling the typical jazz bebop repertoire, the band’s strength in storytelling shines through in its interpretations of folk tunes, gospel melodies, world music, new music, and swing. From Chicago but now based in New York, they have performed across the country in almost every major American city, including noteworthy sold-out performances at the Chicago Jazz Festival and Blue Note Jazz Club (NYC). As sidemen, they have played at world-class venues including the Beijing Opera House, Seoul Performing Arts Center, and Vitoria Jazz Festival in Spain.
