Mario Flores Latin Jazz Band

Performing jazz, pop and original arrangements in addition to Afro-Cuban classics presented in the best of the “tropo-bopo” style, the Mario Flores Latin Jazz Band is an exciting Latin jazz group led by conguero Mario Flores. The group is made up of Flores, pianist/composer Mark Gee, bassist/flutist/vocalist Joel Nixon, Mike Miller on drums and timbales, Rod Harris and Stu Reynolds on sax, Brian Stock on trumpet and John Ulloa on percussion.

The group delivers rhythmically vibrant soundscapes in the tradition of Tito Puente, Cal Tjader, Chano Pozo, Mongo Santamaria and Willie Bobo. Members of the group have performed or recorded with Pete Escovedo, Juan Escovedo, Benny Velarde, Bobby McFarrin, Richard Kermode, Carl Anderson, Freddie Ravel, Clare Fisher, Cornelius Bumpus, Helicio Milito, Joe Craven and Don Shelton.
