Morris Day & The Time

Born in Minneapolis, Morris Day always had a flair for fashion, inspired by photographs of his grandpa in zoot suits. Day went to school with “Prince” Rogers Nelson and sang in Prince’s first band, Grand Central. Prince created the Time as a cool, street-wise funk band and, looking for a lead vocalist with mad talent, he chose his high school friend, Morris Day, to front the group. Soon after, Day and the Time were cast in the film Purple Rain, leading to breakout success. Their first album, The Time, burst onto the scene, followed by three more hit-packed albums with songs including “Jungle Love,” “Girl” and “Cool.“ As always, Morris Day delivers energetic vocals and witty lyrics, complimented by his trademark dance moves, all wrapped up with flashy, dapper style.
