The festival comprises 10 stages and a club crawl all within walking distance in downtown San Jose. The main stage is located at Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park.The outdoor stages comprise numerous beverage, food and arts & crafts booths. The map below shows the festival zone in downtown San Jose.

The Vibe: The Main Stage, located at the very epicenter of the Festival in the Plaza de Cesar Chavez, is the Festival’s crown jewel.  The Main Stage features an exciting and eclectic blend of some of the most compelling and talented jazz performers in the world today. Many attendees never leave the area as it not only has great music but great atmosphere with a highly informed crowd of jazz aficionados, a wide assortment of food and craft vendors, and shaded areas where attendees can throw down a blanket or a chair and make themselves comfortable with friends and loved ones as, together, they enjoy one of the finest jazz festivals in the country.

VIPs enjoy unlimited access to the premium seating area in front of the AT&T Main Stage. The VIP Pavillion is a few steps away located at Plaza de César Chávez. VIPs will have access to the VIP buffet, bar and covered seating. VIP tickets are available for both Saturday and Sunday, but there are no VIP services on Friday. Click for more information.

All Summer Fest performances at the Bella Mia Stage are dedicated to Smith Dobson who was killed, tragically, in a car accident in 2001. Smith was one of the Bay Area’s great arts educators, and served on the boards of San Jose Jazz, the Stanford Jazz Alliance, and the Kuumbwa Jazz Center. Also in tribute to Smith’s legacy, San Jose Jazz hosts the annual Smith Dobson Youth Jazz Festival, which gives young musicians an opportunity to learn from the masters.
