How do I buy tickets?
Tickets and discounted 3-day passes (discount available through July 31) are available online now and through the close of the event. For more information, visit our Tickets FAQ.
Where is the Summer Fest?
The festival is held in downtown San Jose, in both indoor and outdoor venues.
The 12 stages are located within walking distance of one another, and are accessible by showing your valid wristband to a festival attendant at the gate/door. View the festival map for more info. For directions to San Jose, visit our transportation and parking page.
When do the festival grounds open and close?
–Info coming soon–
What may I bring?
You may bring soft bags, low-backed chairs and blankets with a maximum size of 6’ x 8’ into the festival grounds.
What am I not allowed to bring?
Coolers, styrofoam cups, cans, glass bottles, alcohol, and illegal substances are absolutely not allowed. Vending is prohibited on festival grounds, and you must leave your pets at home, except service animals.
May I bring blankets and chairs and leave them overnight?
The park lawn has been replanted and to protect the new grass we cannot allow tarps on the grass. Patrons may place blankets, no larger than 6’ x 8’ to reserve seats, beginning on Friday at 3pm. Blankets may be left in place overnight—however, starting at 5pm on Friday and noon on Saturday and Sunday, there must be at least one person on the blanket, reserving each 6’ x 8’ space or the blanket will be removed.
Only low-back chairs may be used on the grass, and umbrellas must be taken down once the music begins. We hope that you understand that this policy is a change in order to make the process of saving seats more accessible to all.
I bought a ticket online, but my printer is broken. Can I still get in?
If you are unable to bring your print-at-home tickets to the festival and unable to send your tickets to your smartphone, please bring a photo I.D. to the Main Ticket Booth located at Market Street and San Antonio Walkway (next to the Fairmont Hotel) and we will research your purchase. Learn more about electronic entry on our Tickets FAQ.
What is Premium Seating?
Premium Seating is a reserved seating section directly in front of the main stage, allowing attendees to view their favorite artists up close. Each ticket is redeemable for one concert. Premium Seating tickets are available as you purchase your general admission to the festival. VIP ticket holders have automatic and unlimited access to this seating area.
If you already have Summer Fest admission tickets but would like to add premium seating for a specific set, click here.
Will the festival sell out?
The festival is mostly an outdoor event and there is no space limitation. However, some indoor venues have a limited capacity. Premium seating tickets for specific acts on the Main Stage, if available, usually sell out, so buy early. VIP tickets and premium seating tickets will be available on the website July 1. VIP tickets must be purchased online by August 8.
Can I use my credit card at the Summer Fest?
Visa and MasterCard are accepted at all festival gates, but not at most food and drink vendors inside the festival grounds. For more information, visit our Tickets FAQ.
May I take photographs of the artists?
Point and shoot photo equipment may be used at any time in the public areas of the festival. If you are a professional photographer and would like permission to take photographs of the performers from vantage points near the stage, you must apply for a photo credential here.
May I leave the festival and return the same day?
The Summer Fest is held at a number of fenced sites and indoor stages. Festival visitors get a wristband upon entry and they can show their valid wristbands to enter or re-enter any stage.
It’s an outdoor event. May I smoke?
The festival is a non-smoking event.
Do you offer special accommodations for handicapped attendees?
All of our stages are handicapped-accessible, and there are fully-accessible bathrooms throughout the festival grounds. Our indoor stages are equipped with elevators. Major parking structures are located quite close to most festival stages. Please call 408-288-7557 for additional information.
Wow, that’s a lot of people! Are there security and medical personnel onsite?
Absolutely. If you need emergency medical or police attention, please contact any staff member/volunteer, see the VIP Concierge or visit the Red Cross Fest Headquarters in the Plaza de César Chavez.
